Space Imaging Rig (SIR)
A self-built equatorial star tracker designed and assembled in his lab at DIU. SIR demonstrates Tafsir's electrical-engineering background applied directly to astrophotography — every shaft, gear, and stepper-driver chosen to keep the Milky Way pin-sharp during multi-minute exposures.
The photographs in the gallery below were captured with SIR — serving as both the proof of concept and a showcase of what a self-made star tracker can produce in the right hands.
