Tafsir Ahmed Khan

Tafsir Ahmed Khan is a landscape, astrophotography, and long-exposure enthusiast, born and raised in Dhaka. An Electrical Engineer by training, he served as an Assistant Professor at a private university in Bangladesh for ten years. In 2020 he co-founded Star Party Bangladesh to bring together like-minded photography explorers. Since mid-2019 he has pursued photography with purpose, capturing the natural world in its most dramatic light. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech, USA.

Space Imaging Rig (SIR) — self-built star tracker by Tafsir Ahmed Khan

A self-built equatorial star tracker designed and assembled in his lab at DIU. SIR demonstrates Tafsir's electrical-engineering background applied directly to astrophotography — every shaft, gear, and stepper-driver chosen to keep the Milky Way pin-sharp during multi-minute exposures.
